Mr. Murali Pradmanabhan, Inclusive Development – Lead of CBM facilitated the panel discussion on Education and persons with disabilities – How Information Communication Technologies (ICT) can be an enabler

On February 13 and 14, 2014, CBM in partnership with Barrier Break and other stakeholders, organized one of the most awaited Assistive Technologies Event, Techshare 2014 at Delhi. More than 1,000 delegates participated and the exhibition was witnessed by around 2,500 viewers.

The conference and exhibition

The 4th edition of Techshare 2014 (conference and exhibition) not only provided a magnificent platform for people with disabilities, but it also gave a chance to  NGO’s, companies, Government Institutions etc., to explore the latest technologies available for the aid of people with disabilities.

One of the topics that was discussed at the conference was the issue of accessibility and inclusion of people with disability. On the occasion, Mr. Murali Pradmanabhan, Inclusive Development – Lead of CBM facilitated the panel discussion on Education and persons with disabilities – How Information Communication Technologies (ICT) can be an enabler.

The expo at Techshare housed 28 stalls, showcasing latest products and services from across the world. The key products present were digital magnifiers for people with low vision, digital hearing aids, devices that could enable a deaf blind person to interact with a person with sight and hearing. The expo also showcased software and applications developed for persons with disability that could be installed in computers and mobile devices like tablets and phones.
Techshare 2014 provided a wonderful opportunity for experts, organizations and individuals working in the field of disability to learn more about the latest technologies available for the aid of persons with disabilities and discuss the latest trends in the sector.
