Dr. Sara Varughese receives the memento alongside other panelists

CBM was a knowledge partner in the India CSR Summit 2018 that was held in Delhi in late September 2018. Dr. Sara Varughese talked in the panel, Investing in Rural Development and Local Livelihoods through CSR. CBM values teamwork and welcomes CSR partnerships for our works on inclusive healthcare, education and livelihood.

CBM India partnered with NGO Box towards arranging the 5th India CSR Summit 2018 on the 24th and 25th of September 2018. The largest CSR event ever held in South Asia, the two-day conference brought together over 1,800 organizations and more than 3,000 delegates from both governmental and non-governmental institutions.

Dr. Sara Varughese, the Managing Trustee of CBM India Trust and the Regional Director of CBM South Asia Region, spoke at the event on Investing in Rural Development and Local Livelihoods through CSR. Understanding the implications of global events on rural development, CBM suggested the integrated, inclusive and innovative rural development where corporates work along with communities and the government towards making rural areas sustainable, environmental and empowered. CBM makes it a reality through our livelihood projects where we work with communities and corporate and NGO partners to skilling persons with disabilities in agricultural and non-agricultural sources of revenue. Chosen as per the interests of persons, business scope and sustainability, CBM provides vocational training to participants along with linking them with Self-Help Groups and financial institutions for community and monetary support.

CBM also had a stall at the conference where the staff interacted with corporates, government officials and NGOs. CBM shared details of the projects of Healthcare, Education and Livelihood that are done across 26 states in the country and discussed on possible collaborations with corporates and budding NGOs.
