CBM celebrates 50 years in India this year and is also looking to the future.

CBM 50 years in India logo unveiled by German Consul General

The Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangalore, Ms Margit Hellwig Bötte unveiled the logo for CBM’s Golden Jublilee in India on 2, August 2017 in Bangalore. CBM celebrates 50 years in India this year and is also looking to the future. Ms. Helwig and Mrs Sujata Sundaram, Officer, Economic Affairs and PR, German Consulate were welcome by Dr. Sara Varughese, Managing Trustee, and the CBM team. A presentation and a short film on the work of CBM in India was made to the visitors. In early April, 2017, the consulate had supported equipment for CBM’s partner Velemegna and CBM spoke about the partner and the utility of the donated equipment.

Ms Hellwig commended the work done by CBM India and encouraged the organisation to continue working with people who has disabilities and assured her continued support in CBM initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Botte said, “Organisations like CBM play a big role in helping people with disabilities. For those who are not disabled, it is important to help those who are and help improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.”
