Programme for persons with disabilities

Ms. Stuti Kacker shared the importance and necessity of having a programme specifically for persons with disabilities. Currently, government of India has different standalone schemes and programmes for people with disability. The newly conceived strategy (National CBR Mission Mode) would aim to strengthen the existing schemes and programmes through convergence and mainstreaming. She also emphasized how the programme could bridge the gap between the people with disabilities and the service providers in terms of systems and structures.

CBM India and National Trust will submit the proposed framework on National CBR Programme and the implementation structure to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The same will be uploaded on ministry website for public comments
