ATA Expo (July 19, 2013 – July 21, 2013) housed 49 stalls showcasing products and technologies that could improve education and career prospects of people with disabilities.The expo web portal www.ataexpo.in shall continue to build awareness on technologies happenings and accessibility options available for people with disabilities

ATA (Assistive Technology & Accessibility) Expo

ATA Expo (July 19, 2013 – July 21, 2013) was a collaborative effort of CBM India and Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University organised at the university campus.

ATA Expo 2013 was organised to showcase the modern technologies and accessibility products that could improve education and career prospects of people with disabilities. The Expo was inaugurated by Dr. James Pitchai, Vice Chancellor, Bharathiar University

Products and services presented

The expo housed 49 stalls showcasing products and technologies like adaptive keyboards, switches, screen reading software, scanning, Accessible format converters and reading devices to access computers.

The exhibitors also presented braille displays, augmentative/alternative communication devices, tactile graphics, sensory improvement equipment, mobility devices, hard-of hearing enablers, language, speech trainers and learning enhancement tools.

Multimodal Material Preparation Centre for persons with disabilities

On the occasion, Dr. Sara Varughese, Regional Director, CBM south Asia Regional Office had inaugurated Multimodal Material Preparation Centre for persons with disabilities at the University campus.

The centre is equipped with advanced software that supports students with Visual Impairment, Low Vision and Hearing Impairment. The centre also host’s technologies adapted for students with Physical Impairment and Cerebral Palsy.

ATA Expo web Portal to showcase latest products and technologies

The ATA Expo web portal shall continue to build awareness on technology happenings and accessibility options available for people with disabilities to enhance their knowledge and career prospects.
