Adult Training Centre for the Blind
Blind People's Association is a professional organization which believes in providing equal opportunities to all categories of people with disabilities. Consistent with the philosophy, it works for providing education, employment opportunities, equal rights and quality life for them. BPA, understands that gainful employment plays an essential part in the life of a person because it gives him status and binds him to the society. Acceptance of disabled persons at work can be viewed as society's acceptance of these Persons without discrimination.
Ahmedabad, capital of Gujarat, 16 kms from Ahmedabad airport. A tertiary Education and Rehabilitation project with efficient and dedicated management. It provides services in all spheres to blind and other handicapped persons and their services are spread all over the State. BPA has a Deaf-blind unit and a Low Vision Centre which has Government recognition. Besides a large donor base, all available Government funds are accessed. An excellent resource and enablement Partner for CBM.
Navalbhai and Hiraba Eye Hospital
CBM supported Navalbhai and Hiraba Eye Hospital has been set up by the BPA in Collaboration of the Bareja General Hospital Trust and was inaugrated by Mr. Indravijaysingh K. Jadeja, Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Gujarat on 19th of January 2003.The hospital provides comprehensive eye care services to the persons in 32 villages around Bareja. With the help and support of donors we are now able to reach Nadiad, Kheda, Anand and Ahmedabad. Hospital, which had capacity of 25 beds, has now capacity of 50 beds after the construction of 1st floor. Our target is to cover whole Gujarat.
This facility is closely associated Blind People's Association, Ahmedabad and provides good support from local CBR referrals.
