India’s growing economy presents opportunities to move out of poverty, but structural reforms are necessary to reduce the vulnerability and improve the lives of people with disabilities in India.

CBM, together with its partners, has addressed the most urgent needs and initiated new means of service delivery and inclusion for their target group.

CBM's Regional Office for the South Asia Region has prioritised implementation of programmes in states which have high percentages of people below the poverty line and high numbers of people with disabilities.

The priority areas for CBM in India are: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and North East.

Apart from these priority regions, CBM has interventions in almost all part of the country through its Partner network and linkages.
